Date and Time:  7/19/2009

The U.S. SARR Corps, a regional search, rescue and recovery team that was practicing at McConnell’s Mill State Park this afternoon, had a real emergency to tackle. A 20 year-old New Brighton man fell approximately 25 feet from a water falls near the Kildoo Bridge. Ron Wisbeth, regional director of U.S. SARR Corps, quickly had his personnel convert from practice mode to actually emergency mode and help Slippery Rock Twp. Fire Department personnel rescue the man. Rick Carson, Chief DCNR Park Ranger at McConnell’s Mill, told KDSTV that the man was sight-seeing with his girlfriend when he slipped on the rocks and suffered a cut on his head and back injuries.
