05/26/11 Shortly after 5:30 this evening an accident occurred on Route 422 in Pulaski Township, Lawrence County in front of the New Castle School of Trades building. According to trooper Young of the New Castle State Police, a eastbound Jeep SUV with two occupants attempted to turn left into the NCSTrades and was hit by a westbound pickup truck with three occupants. The pu continued to travel into the parking lot of the NCST striking a parked NCSTsemi used for driver training. Young went on to say that two individuals in each vehicle were injured and suffered moderate to serious injuries. The fifth, a passenger in the pu, was not injured and was ambulatory at the scene. The victims were transferred by ground ambulance to a Youngstown hospital and are believed to be from Ohio. The vehicles were off the highway so traffic was still able to pass the accident.
