Injuries Reported In Early Morning Neshannock House Fire
Date and Time:
Location: Kings Chapel Road Neshannock Township Lawrence County
UPDATE: 02/12/14 / 10:30 hrs.
Neshannock Police report that they were dispatched to assist Neshannock Fire Department at the scene of a residential structure fire on Kings Chapel Road with people trapped inside. Upon arrival, police found heavy fire coming from the living room area on the south east corner of the home. 40 year-old Jennifer Bees had removed her six year-old daughter from the burning home and reentered the home to find her sixteen year-old son before police and fire arrived. Bees was found in a bedroom with her son laying on a bed. Police then dragged him through a window and then performed mouth to mouth resuscitation. Bees then was removed through the same window. She then indicated that her 11 year-old daughter was still inside the home. Police and firemen were unable to enter the building because of intense smoke and fire to search for the child. It was later determined that the eleven year-old was never in the home and was in fact staying with her father. Bees was mistaken about the whereabouts of her daughter because of the panicked state she was in. The boy was air-lifted to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. Bees was taken to Jameson Hospital with lacerations to her feet. She was accompanied by her daughter who apparently wasn’t injured. The state fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire. The home appears to be a total loss.
